QSIB is a proud multi-cultural international community. Our 300+ students, currently representing thirty nine countries, share a common goal to earn academic success in our rigorous environment and develop their individuality, interests and special talents. The challenging English language curriculum of the QSI International School of Bratislava is based on an American educational model enabling student performances representing mastery learning from the early childhood program through the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma program and Advanced (AP) Placement program. Our activity and after-school programs provide students access to a wide range of sports, activities, clubs, student leadership roles and community service activities.

The Two Year Old Program is designed to expose the child to his/her first group or social experience with other two-year-old children. The student will participate in a variety of social and group experiences.

The following six essential units use an integrated approach fostering an introduction and awareness to the people and world around them. The six units- All About Us, Where We Live, Animals, In the Dark, How Things Work and Everything Changes- are to be considered an exposure to Social Skills, Language Development, along with Gross and Fine-Motor Development. We strongly advocate the importance of age appropriate activities. We believe that two year olds learn through play thereby gaining important skills in social and language development.

The primary source used is the Pebble Soup Explorations Curriculum. This is a comprehensive program consisting of many materials for each unit of study. The program is designed to achieve the units through learning centers involving hands-on activities, which are developmentally age appropriate. Small group activities may also be used to teach specific skills.

The Three and Four Year Old Program is designed to engage the child in his/her first formal school experience. In the Oral Language/Literacy Program for the three and four year olds, the student will participate in a variety of learning experiences. These experiences are to foster his/her interest in all aspects of Oral Language/Literacy. This program is designed to be a two-year program where year 1 is considered a 3 year old program and year 2 is considered a 4 year old program. The primary source for the units of study is the Harcourt “Trophies” Oral Language and Literacy Program, which is a Pre-Kindergarten program for children 3-5. In the four year old program, Jolly Phonics is introduced to teach children to read and write through an early systematic phonics program.

The Three and Four Year Old Mathematics Program is designed to be a two-year program, hands-on program that will promote the beginning understanding of mathematics through the use of developmentally appropriate activities and lessons for this age group. Each child will participate in a variety of pre-mathematics and early mathematics activities that will develop their understanding of sorting and classifying, patterns, number concepts, shapes, measurement and graphing. Children are naturally curious. This program is meant to engage students in activities that foster and nurture their wonderment of mathematics in the world around them. The primary source for the units of study is Harcourt Math.

The Three and Four Year Old Science Program is designed to give each child a base of experiences that will foster a foundation which produces scientific literacy at its earliest stages. The lessons and activities of this program will develop the understanding of early science concepts, science process skills, science vocabulary, the understanding of science inquiry, print awareness along with writing, speaking and listening skills. The primary source for the units of study is Harcourt Science.

Children are naturally curious. The mathematics and science programs are meant to engage students in activities that foster and nurture their wonderment of mathematics and the world around them.

Entry Ages
To enter the 2 year old class a child will have completed 2 years of birth no later than 31 October.
To enter the 3 year old class a child will have completed 3 years of birth no later than 31 October.
To enter the 4 year old class a child will have completed 4 years of birth no later than 31 October.
